1. Who we are
Broceli Books is an independent children’s book brand operated by author Brock Goetsch. Questions about this policy or our information practices can be sent to brockdgoetsch@gmail.com.
2. How the Book Club email process works
When an adult enters an email address and selects Join the Club, the website creates a ready-to-edit message in that person’s email application. The website does not automatically send the message or save the form entry in an onsite database. Information reaches Broceli Books only if the adult reviews and sends that email.
The draft invites the adult to provide a name, an email address, the number of children in the family, and a general range covering the youngest and oldest children’s ages. Please do not include a child’s full name, email address, exact birth date, school, home address, photograph, or other identifying information.
3. Information we may receive
If you send the Book Club email, we may receive:
- Your email address and the adult name you choose to provide.
- The number of children in your household and a general age range.
- Any additional information you voluntarily include in your message.
The site itself does not use an advertising or analytics tracker. Our website and email providers may process limited technical information needed to deliver, secure, and troubleshoot their services, such as an IP address, browser or device information, request time, and service logs, subject to their own policies.
4. How we use information
We use Book Club information only to:
- Administer the Broceli Books Club and respond to questions.
- Send requested Broceli Books news, promotional offers, and behind-the-scenes updates.
- Invite adult subscribers to optional surveys that help improve future stories.
- Protect the security and integrity of our communications and comply with applicable obligations.
5. Children’s privacy
Broceli Books creates stories for children, but the Book Club email signup is intended only for adults who are parents, guardians, or caregivers. We do not knowingly ask children under 13 to provide personal information or use a child’s contact information for marketing.
If you believe a child has sent personal information to us, a parent or guardian may email us. We will review the request and delete the information from our active records.
6. Sharing and selling
We do not sell, rent, or trade personal information. Information may be processed by service providers that help host the website or deliver email, only as needed to provide those services. We may also disclose information when reasonably necessary to comply with law, protect safety, or prevent misuse.
7. Retention
We keep Book Club contact information only while it is reasonably needed to administer the club, send the communications an adult requested, or meet legitimate recordkeeping obligations. If you unsubscribe, we will stop promotional messages and may keep only the minimum information necessary to remember and honor that choice.
If you request deletion, we will delete your personal information from our active Book Club records within 30 days, unless retaining limited information is required by law or needed to document and honor your opt-out request.
8. Unsubscribe, access, and deletion requests
You may ask to be removed from the Broceli Books Club or request access to, correction of, or deletion of your information at any time. Email brockdgoetsch@gmail.com from the address you used to join. Using a subject such as Unsubscribe or Delete My Information will help us process the request.
We will honor marketing opt-out requests within 10 business days and will not charge a fee for unsubscribing. We may ask for reasonable confirmation that the requesting adult controls the email address before providing access to or deleting information.
9. Information security
We use reasonable safeguards appropriate to the limited information we receive. However, no website, email system, or internet transmission can be guaranteed completely secure. Please avoid sending sensitive or unnecessary personal information.
10. External links
The website links to services such as Amazon and Facebook. Once you follow an external link, that service’s privacy policy and practices apply. Broceli Books does not control those external services.
11. Policy updates
We may update this policy as the Book Club or website changes. The effective date at the top of this page will show when the latest version took effect. Material changes will be presented clearly on this page.
